The requirements for becoming

an official are:

​

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Have knowledge of the sport and ensure that the game is played safely

  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to explain the rulings to the coaches and players

  • Be fair minded and impartial

  • Complete the Certification program

  • Abide by the NYSPHSAA qualifications and requirements
